We visit many educational establishments from pre-schools / primary /secondary schools, to referral units and special needs schools. We provide educational support for national curriculum topics found within the Desirable Learning Outcomes for nursery education through to Key stage 3 in Secondary Schools.
Topics covered include Introduction to animals / Unusual animals / Life processes / Mini beasts / Rainforests / Adaptation / Evolution / Habitats along with specially designed sessions based on the teacher's specific requirements.
Our outreach program also reaches members of the general public and promotes awareness of conservation programs / responsible ownership of exotic animals / regulations applying to the importation of animals and animal derivatives whilst travelling abroad and the positive work of the Trust in general.
Our Education objective is to increase awareness, knowledge and understanding about animals, conservation and the environment to visitors. We do this through signage, social media, press releases, newsletters and by having keeper talks and having keeper for the day programs.
