Behaviour Owl monkeys are the only truly nocturnal monkey and inhabit the forests of much of South America. They emerge just before sunset when daytime predators and competitors have roosted.
Diet Fruits, insects, nectar and leaves, occasional lizards, frogs and eggs.
Habitat Primary and secondary lowland rain forest to montane forest.
Status Lower risk.
